Baked Johnny Cake ~ 1909

1 Egg
1 Cup Indian Meal
1/2 Cup Flour
1 Cup Milk
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder

Beat egg well and mix in all ingredients. Bake in a quick oven

Klondike Nuggets ~ 1909

2 Cups Cornmeal
2 Tablespoons Sugar
1 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Pint Seeded and Chopped Rasins

Combine ingredients and pour enough boiling water to make a stiff dough. Make into cakes with the hands, about one inch thick, and fry in fat until nicely browned.
